OK so much to Chick's dismay, I liked Ottawa. Here's my feeble attempt at explaining why. No lengthy babbling, I'll just shut up and post pics.
So I liked Ottawa because...
Yep.
I liked this building.
A lot. I sure did.
They had dudes in funny hats and clothing. They didn't move. It was hot. They must have been dehydrated. Poor dudes.
This was supposed to be our hotel, but someone just booked the last rooms before us. I guess it might have been a bit too much anyway.
From inside the Parliament buildings. The room for mere mortals.
The room for gods.
And up there is where Zeus himself has his quarters. When Pierre Trudeau was Zeus, he was always being way awesome by sliding down on the railing instead of walking. Smooth. Imagine Paavo Lipponen or Matti Vanhanen doing that. Yeah, I couldn't imagine it either.
This is our tour guide with some kind of something behind her. She was great. Said pics of her cost 5 bucks each but never charged me.
Ceiling in the Parliament Building. Yes, ceiling.
Thought someone had just parked their time machine up there, didn't you? They had paintings like that everywhere in the building.
There was a canal.
Indeed.
RUN YOU FOOLS, THERE'S A GIANT SPIDER BEHIND YOU!
It was nearly as big as the one I saw at Jon's place.
Human rights are pretty cool.
They had lots of parks. Parks everywhere!
I even liked the buses.
I liked these. A lot.
The rain made everything glisten.
Oh man, yes, like, totally! You're preaching to the choir there, brother.
I gotta be the only one who likes these things.
An outdoors mall spanning five blocks. Being sick, I kinda wished it was an indoors mall. I might have been a little less drenched.
Getting bored of these yet?
How about these then?
This was our hotel. Cost $30 more per night, too. Still, it was really nice.
This is the view from the hotel room. Downtown with the skyscrapers was just a bit to the left, couldnt get a good shot. I spent literally hours standing/sitting/talking in front of this window, the second night all they way until 5am. Wish I could go back.
Seems like I couldn't shut up after all. This 'being Finnish' thing stopped working ages ago. The world needs more Canada.
oh-oh... i must be very tired.... the lovely photographs and convincing prose have begun to sway my perception but i must resist.... must resist..... really should resist.....
VastaaPoistaResistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
