Too many things happening too fast, can't keep up with the updates! Anyway, the 'absorbing the culture' part of my language practice is progressing well. Just today, I absorbed a chocolate ice-cream at Dairy Queen (boom, another famous chain down!) and about two gazillion burgers and hotdogs at the Father's Day party along with a couple of gallons of Coke. I never knew absorbing culture was this tasty.
Yesterday I absorbed really nice portuguese pastry, smoked meat at Schwartz's, corn on a cob (which is a wonderful device for devouring massive amounts of butter and salt), a delicious $4(!) brownie, and probably around twenty other... uh... pieces of culture that I can't remember any more. The other day I also absorbed a beaver tail, which is another piece of local haute cuisine. It's a flat piece of some kind of buttery sugary dough which is first deep-fried and then perfected by spreading a healthy (hah!) dosage of cream cheese and Skor pieces (that's Daim for us Euros) on top of it. It tasted like clogged arteries. Yummy!
Oh, this I also gotta tell you about. I learned another awesome term yesterday thanks to Jon's friend Rhona, whose name I probably just butchered, sorry! At a certain time in certain areas of Montreal, it's time for the improbable shoe olympics. Simply genius! If you didn't figure it out already, this of course refers to the ladies of certain trade starting to do their rounds at night.
Today I missed the back of my arm, you know, the spot where normal people have their triceps, when applying sunscreen and now it has red on it. Anyone get it?
Olipa hauskasti kirjoitettu. Nauroin ääneen monta kertaa. Ootko ajatellut kirjailijan ammattia, kun sana tuntuu sujuvan noin vikkelästi.
